ShardFlip data and calculation methods
Sources, assumptions and limits behind the shard calculator.

Where do the shard fusion recipes come from?
The catalog contains 325 shards and 131,312 recorded combinations from the MIT-licensed SkyShards source revision dated . The import checked 324 official Bazaar shard products. Catalog size and available priced markets are different counts.
Recipes preserve ingredient order, quantities and output amount. A self-fusion consumes both input slots. Community records can have omissions; verify unusual recipes in game before buying inputs.
Where do shard prices come from?
Market quotes come from the Hypixel public API. The tools distinguish instant buying, instant selling, buy orders and sell offers. Check the quote time shown beside the results; an older snapshot may be shown with a stale warning when the market source is unavailable.
The calculator primarily uses Hypixel quick_status weighted instant prices, with order-summary fallback when a weighted price is missing. In order mode it adds 0.1 coins to the instant-sell reference for inputs and subtracts 0.1 from the instant-buy reference for outputs. These are modeled references, not a verified top-of-book order position. When the buy reference exceeds 2.5 times the sell reference, it uses instant-side quotes instead of that extreme spread. This check is not a guarantee against manipulation or poor fills.
Quoted unit prices do not simulate buying through every order-book level. A large purchase can cost more; an order may wait, be undercut or never fill.
How is shard fusion profit calculated?
Estimated profit = output quantity × sale price × (1 − selected tax) − total input cost. Include the full quantity of every ingredient. ROI divides estimated profit by quoted input cost; it is not profit per hour.
The tracker starts at 1.25% sale tax and lets you select its supported settings. Keep the same trade mode and tax across comparisons. Special game conditions may differ from your selection; check the applicable in-game fees.
The budget filter covers complete one-step fusions. Maximum batches are budget divided by input cost, rounded down: a capital bound at quoted prices, not a forecast of completed trades.
Are farmed shards free?
They require no new coin purchase, but you could sell them. That forgone net sale is their opportunity cost. Sell or fuse compares output sale less partner purchases with selling your owned shards under the same sale mode and tax.
What do price history and weekly volume mean?
Price history uses real hourly observations collected by ShardFlip, starting on 24 October 2026. Samples are retained for 14 days. A seven-day comparison needs an actual sufficiently old baseline; missing days are not invented or treated as zero prices.
Moving-week volume counts historical traded units, not a seven-day average price or your available order fill. Fusions per week normalizes input and output volumes by recipe quantities and uses the limiting side. It gives liquidity context, not a forecast of your trading speed.
What is free, and what is Pro?
Public shard references, the directory, this methodology and the fusion guide are available without signing in. The tracker includes a free preview; Pro unlocks protected recipe rankings and the full target planner. Current plans and access details describe the offer.
